The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) was signed into law on July 26, 1990. Disability Pride Month is celebrated in July to commemorate this landmark legislation.

We asked Catrina Flowers, ECI Bookkeeper, to share her experiences with the ADA and what disability pride means to her:

A quote that always stuck with me in relation to the ADA is…

"I don't need easy. I just need possible."

The quote means a lot to me, and my family. It’s gotten me through lots of storms and challenges thus far in my life. Some of those challenges resulted in awesome achievements, but they ALL had a hand in my growth and opportunity. My mom used to say, “If you leave a door of opportunity just cracked open for Catrina, she will bust that door wide open.”
