Did you know that you could create a personal on-line account with Social Security?  It is called a my Social Security account and it is a way of doing business with the Social Security Administration on-line for those that receive benefits now or will in the future.  ECI participants can create a my Social Security account by visiting one of the two Social Security partners:  Login.gov or ID.me.  According to the Social Security Administration, these partners are credentialed by Social Security to make sure your personal information is protected.  ECI participants will be asked to provide personal information that allows Social Security to verify your identity.

ECI participants should keep in mind the following:

  • You must be at least 18 years’ old
  • Have a Social Security card
  • You must provide a valid email address, along with additional information

ECI participants can learn more about creating and using a my Social Security account by visiting:  ssa.gov
