Interactive events for youth with disabilities to learn skills, understand their rights, and socialize with others. Participants should be motivated to be involved in activities and interested in learning and sharing. Referral and pre-registration are required.
WHO: Youth with disabilities ages 16-21
WHAT: Independent Living Skills Training, Advocacy, Work Readiness
WHEN: July 10 – August 4
Monday through Thursday each week
1:00 – 5:00 pm each day
WHERE: Endependence Center, 6300 E. Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk
EXCEPT One event a week will be at a different community location.
TRANSPORTATION: Paratransit and bus tickets are provided.
Participants will arrange their own transportation.
ACCOMMODATIONS: Disability accommodations are provided.
REGISTRATION: Pre-registration is required.
REFERRAL: Must be referred by a Department for Aging and Rehabilitative Services vocational counselor.
LIMITED SPACE: Session filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
