From Tuesday, June 20 to Thursday, June 22, Portsmouth Redevelopment and Housing Authority will be opening their wait list for the following communities: Dale Apartments (1, 2, 3, 4 bedroom), Phoebus Square Apartments (62+ only; 1 bedroom) and Lexington Place (2 bedrooms).
Applications for each property will be accepted online only. Applicants will be placed on the preliminary waiting list according to the Agency preference(s) and a lottery system. The lottery system will randomly pick 150 applicants for each bedroom size of each property. Once each applicant has been randomly assigned a number, the applications will be placed on the preliminary waitlist in order of the assigned numbers and preferences. Upon acceptance of the application, applicants will be given a confirmation number. Applicants are encouraged to print the confirmation page containing this number or document the confirmation number, as it will be used to identify your application.
To be given preference/priority on the waitlist, applicantsmust be living or working in the City of Portsmouth, elderly and/or disabled families, a PRHA Section 8/Housing Choice Voucher participant terminated due to insufficient funding, a veteran, applicant involuntarily displaced by government action in the City of Portsmouth or homeless as defined by HUD.
Results from the lottery will be posted by 5:00 pm on Friday, June 30, 2023, on the Authority’s website at www.prha.org
